Pierce did an absolutely GREAT job tonight! He continues to struggle with the *labels* of grammatical concepts, but he demonstrates a solid grasp of the actual grammatical concepts themselves. Pierce is quick (too quick) to throw in the towel and say, "I don't know" or "I don't remember" which, when I push him, turns out to be anything but the case. Tonight we worked hard on the Perfect System of Latin verbs, both active and passive voices, and indicative and subjunctive moods. I am eager to engage Pierce in some actual translation work, which maybe I'll get him to do on Thursday. Thanks so much, Pierce, for your wonderful and hard work tonight.
