Session Summary:
Pavan did an outstanding job tonight. We worked on a lot together. I asked Pavan to tackle an exercise that challenged his command of the preposition any given verb takes when followed by an infinitive. He did okay. Clearly this is an important aspect of French grammar he wants to better master. Then we did a protracted pronunciation exercise, which frankly I do far too little of with Pavan. Pavan did well, except he did have trouble with persisting in pronouncing the s at the end of words when the s shouldn't be as well as pronouncing vowels more as they're pronounced in English than how they are in French. Then we started an exercise that challenged Pavan's command of compound prepositions. I chose these difficult and challenging exercises, 1) to help get Pavan's mind revved up in French to preparation for the upcoming AP French Exam, and 2) because these are nuances of the French language which, either directly or indirectly, the AP French Exam will ask him to demonstrate mastery. Great job tonight, Pavan. I know this wasn't easy, but you worked hard and really stretched yourself tonight.
