Session Summary:
Nicholas and I had an outstanding session tonight. I had some translation practice planned for him to work on, but he told me he had Catullus 72 due on Tuesday in class, so we worked on that. I'm glad we did, because it allowed me to provide Nicholas some mini-lessons on sequence of tense, infinitives, and syncopation, the latter of which Nicholas had never encountered. Syncopation is quite common in poetry, where the Roman poets strived so hard to fix the meter of each line. Nicholas was his usual open-minded, cheerful, upbeat self, which the session a real joy. Thanks, Nicholas, for you good, hard work tonight.
