Session Summary:
Jacob and I had a FANTASTIC session this evening!! Jacob *definitely* brought his A+-game to tutoring today (he's been bringing his A-game to tutoring consistently, but today, he brought something extra). Jacob asked probing questions throughout the session that clearly indicated he was thinking about the material on high order. I'm particularly impressed by the "thinking outside the box" he demonstrated by going the extra step in his translation of nouns in their various cases by actually providing proper context for those translations rather than simply stating "men (as direct object)". To say I am impressed with this young man is an understatement. I have **thoroughly** enjoyed tutoring Jacob—he is the kind of interested, eager, engaged student every teacher hopes for. This evening, we did quite a bit of work with his Grammatical Justification exercises, which allowed Jacob exposure to and practice with the passive voice, which is a grammar point in which St Joseph's has asked Jacob become versed. He and I then moved on to the Third Declension Nouns explanation/exercise set, on which Jacob demonstrated strong command of the material. He struggled exactly as much as I expected him to. Jacob is doing just fine with all this material. Thanks so much, Jacob, for an outstanding, enjoyable session this evening. I look forward to many more.
