Session Summary:
Jacob did an absolutely outstanding job in tutoring today. He was engaged, interested, eager to learn, and asked many probing, penetrating questions about not only the Latin language but also about Roman society. As a matter of fact, we did get into a short discussion about the fascinating topic of the Roman naming system. We hit upon a number of grammar points: fourth declension nouns, third declension adjectives, fifth declension nouns. Jacob continues to do an outstanding job with contextually translating the nouns in their resultant cases, which is helpful to me as his instructor, because it allows me to ascertain his command of the functions of the cases (and allows Jacob a chance to reinforce his command of English grammar). We also did some work his "Grammatical Justification - Present System" special exercise. I asked Jacob if he felt he'd be able to meet tomorrow, after the meeting with Brian about which Jacob I could tell is somewhat anxious, and Jacob said that would be up to his parents. Thanks again, Jacob, for a truly outstanding session this evening. I appreciate your hard, great work today.
